An existing semi-detached house is being converted and expanded with a two-story extension building. On the ground floor the living room expands to include a dining and a kitchen area. A wide corner window connects the living area to the adjacent terrace and garden. The upper floor contains the parents’ bedroom and a work room. The wooden ceilings remain visible and create a homely atmosphere with their natural surfaces. Together with the open slat facade made of larch wood the timber construction becomes tangible.
