from early on… in a good community | The two-story building stretches along the northern edge of the property. Its scale integrates it into the existing structures and, through its positioning, mediates the urban development between the adjacent residential buildings and the community uses. It forms a boundary between the residential buildings along the street to the north and marks the area around the church. The neighbors’ private gardens are protected, and the daycare center’s uses are consistently oriented southward toward St. Mary’s Church, the forecourt, and the community center. The daycare center, with its single-story pavilion, is stepped down toward the church, thus highlighting St. Mary’s Church as a solitary structure.
